Fashion, Fantasy, Art

Leading image:
Cathedral by Belgian ceramic sculptor Johan Creten. One can easily relate to Johan Creten's take on artistic inspiration below:
It comes from the gut. It's like a kind of instinct, where you combine feeling with experience. For me, history and the links to it are important. I want to tell old stories in a different way, so they make sense today.

Images: Trurt everyone enjoyed the weekend. We had a very busy one. Had eight guests round for a formal dinner Saturday night ( first course pictured above). Added the final touches to a painting I've been working on for a few months ( see above piece).

Wore my new shoes to the Johan Creten exhibit Friday evening, had coffee with friends Saturday lunchtime at a lively streetside cafe. I love the cafe life here in Paris. It inspires one to paint. The last picture was painted by my busy little hands. Wishing everyone a sparkling week. Follow our blog via Bloglovin HERE

Words for thought by Jean Cocteau: Art produces ugly things which frequently become more beautiful with time. Fashion, on the other hand, produces beautiful things which always become ugly with time.

Paris: Talbot Runhof Show

Sweet friends. Today we are introducing a new team member here at Fashion, Art and Other Fancies. Meet our new Editor in Chief, the lovely Olivia La Brooy. A good friend of my family introduced us at the Talbot and Runhof show in Paris.

Born in London. Olivia La Brooy studied Buying and Merchandising at the Fashion Academy in London. Then went on to do internships in PR and marketing with Mulberry ( whom she still works for ) and various other London agencies. Below her review of the Talbot/ Runhof show.

The Talbot Runhof show began in complete darkness, then a narrator emerged through the speakers taking us through all the ways we see the colour ‘green’ and the sense of power it holds. Everything from peace to envy. Then the room was lit up with a rich green light which really provided a fantastic mood throughout the room! And then the show began!

Held at the stunning Hotel Westin the show took inspiration from ‘Great Expectations’ character Nora Dinsmoor. The sadness and passion of her life gave the brand the colour palette from ivy to oak, from acorn to gingko, birch to maple, emerald to evergreen, turquoise to jade, moss to bronze. Green. This was an eye catching beautiful show!

I saw a lot of tweed, satin and velvet throughout the show with the bold statement print for the season - leaf motives. Which we first saw on our invitations.

Images and show review via Olivia La Brooy - our new Editor in Chief. Wishing everyone a radiant weekend. The sun is shining here today! We are so exhausted after the mad rush of the Paris shows. Catch up on all your blogs next week. Follow our blog via Bloglovin HERE

Lanvin Fall 2012

Delectably high confections, hors d’oevres, and champagne overflowed in the aisles before Lanvin’s Fall 2012 presentation, setting the stage for a celebration of creative director Alber Elbaz’s 10 years of design at the house.

The upbeat presentation opened with the brand’s signature feminine sensuality: peplumed solid shifts in bold forest green, eggplant, bright marigold, wild orange, and cobalt blue, anchored by slick yet simple black stiletto boots. Continue reading HERE

Touch of Pastel...

01

p.s. I ne zaboravite  giveaway u kojem možete da osvojite sjajne Lillian naočare!

I believe that you have noticed that I feel very comfortable in casual pieces while, at the same time, I can not without all-is-perfect moments, and those necessary touch of femininity and seduction hidden in the small but striking details: bright pink lipstick, ''snake'' print handbags, high heels, catty glasses.
It seems to me that in this short description of my today's outfit  I gave you my little psychological profile post, which I see as another confirmation of the thesis that clothes don't make a man but say a lot about him.
But, now, back to today's post. In the main role is trench by Serbian brand ''Edi'', for which I can only say one thing: fantastic. As for quality, as for adaptable design. ''Spring'' element of the post is a thin sweater in pastel shade of yellow, as a small hint of upcoming obsession with pastel tones.
Jeans with a good pair of boots and always lovely model of bag from ''Tašnarija'' workshop, round out the whole story of this post.
Enjoy your Friday and upcoming weekend with the loved ones ...
Until the next post a greeting and a kiss for all! Your B.
