A New Take on Skinny

Picture: Skinny Jim by George Condo. What do you all think of the outlandish skinny Jim? He looks hilariously mad and trendy with all those colourful dots. I think what he's wearing is a brilliant ensemble for Paris fashion week ( including facial expression and headwear). Regular readers know how terribly idiosyncratic I can be.

Travelling to Frankfurt this week. Let's see if I manage to make it to the opening of the George Condo exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, Germany. Schedule is quite full for this trip, but a girl is never too busy for a spot of vintage shopping, a relaxing facial in the Babor Spa, Luftansa senator lounge, and drinks with happy friends. Looking forward to luncheon with the Editor in Chief of Kids Life Magazine, the delightful Martina Voigt

Life is about enjoying things. Go out this weekend, eat with a friend, have a cup of hot chocolate, sit quietly and dream, cook something delicious, but don't forget to share with those you love. xx

It's time to chill out...

Smem li da spomenem ''plus'' ispred brojke celzijusa koja nam je obeležila današnji dan, ili ipak da ćutim i ne ureknem sve? Ok, držim jezik za zubima i dodajem ''pu pu''.  Dan nakon ispita koji sam uspešno završila (malo hvale nije na odmet), provela sam, a kako drugo nego, odmarajući mozak i dušu. Ustaljen raspored: malo šetnje mokrim ulicama Beograda, puno priče, po koji gutljaj omiljenog pića uz zalogaj omiljenog jela i tako u krug. Kožni šorc strpljivo je sačekao svoju odavno zasluženu šetnju, i idelano se uklopio uz nove čizmice sa OASAP.com Sve propraćeno uvek aktuelnim prugama, začinjeno mačkastim naočarima i onim ''dodirom'' crvene, prema kojoj, kako ste to već davno uočili, osećam duboku nakolonost. I to bi bio moj ''plus'' outfit, za koji se nadam da će vam se dopasti.

For my post exam day which includes a lot of walking, talking and enjoying in a favorite drinks and snacks with my best friend, I choose leather shorts that patiently waited warmer weather. Rue du Vertbois, Paris

First picture by Gilles Gorriti, painter and piano player. Would love to sit and listen to Gilles at the piano. I wonder if his music is as sparkling as his paintings. This still life draws the mind back to the sun-dappled days of my childhood along the vibrantly colourful impressionistic French/Italian riviera.

Second picture: Rue du Vertbois, Paris. By Japanese painter, Takanori Oguiss, who spent a great part of his life capturing the spirited silent charm of Parisian side streets. I shall wander down the Rue du Vertbois this afternoon, walk in the footsteps of Oguiss, and draw Rue du Vertbois as I see it. Which of these paintings do you relate to? xx

In love with my new boots...

Cele zime tragala sam za savršenim do članka dubokim čizmama koje će biti idealan spoj elegancije i udobnosti. All winter I have searched for the perfect ankle boots that will be the ideal combination of elegance and comfort. Thanks to a OASAP.com, I found my perfect pair. Sweet, Sweet Alchemies

Who are you eating and drinking with this week? I am looking forward to breaking bread with fellow violinist, and good friend, Maia of sweet alchemies. She bakes the most scrumptious chocolate cakes as the one pictured above, and I'm quite certain she makes a divine vegetable stew, too.

Last weekend, we had friends round for dinner. I made Sichuan-style sea bass with wok-fried vegetables, Rioja-braised lamb shanks with chorizo and garlic, beetroot soup with feta followed by Maia's delightful orange chocolate brownies. Everyone loved the chocolate orange brownies. I had to fax the recipe to three friends yesterday. Don't be bashful. Go ahead and try this at home. Online Receipe HERE

Colour me pretty from new york

Colour is not only essential in art but also in fashion. As a painter, colour is my little cup of joy. One can only take grey on grey or black on black for a short period of time.

It's Monday. The sky is dark and vast. Lacking in colour and joy. Off to the studio to paint colour on canvas. I leave you with the above image from New York fashion week. xx

Breathe and Reset...

U inat minusu gazim svojom štiklom po neočišćenom snegu svoje ulice odlazeći u susret novom outfit postu, nastalom u jučerašnjem predahu od učenja (agonija se nastavlja usled vanrednog stanja). Borim se da sačuvam zimu u kategoriji omiljenog godišnjeg doba, ali mi neprekidno medijsko bombardovanje u znaku najave ''novog ledenog doba'' kvari zamisao. A onda čujem smeh klinaca iz kraja koji pošteno iskorišćavaju svoj ''vanredni'' raspust i setim se zašto sam nekada davno zavolela zimu, i zašto ne odustajem ni danas od te ljubavi. 

I to je dovoljno, da nasmejana nastavim dan i na -20 C.

A za svoj mali predah odlučila sam se za ležerno-elegantnu kombinaciju, sa baggy pantalonama u glavnoj ulozi, koje ste, inače, upoznali još prošle zime, i koje i dalje nose titulu jednog od najomiljenijih komada u mom garderoberu. 

Tu je i ''dodir'' animal printa, moje slabosti već par sezona i malo ''zlatnog'' sjaja za uz smeđe tonove, koji su mi obeležili ovu zimu. I tek kap crvene. Čisto za sreću ;)

For a short break of learning in this cold February day, I decided for casually-elegant combination, with the baggy pants in the lead role, which you have met last winter, and which continue to be the one of my the favorite pieces in wardrobe. There is a'' touch'' animal print, my weakness for several seasons and a little bit of ''golden'' glow in combination with brown tones. And just a drop of red. For luck, as I love to say ;) Hope you'll like it!
